Holiday Memories From The M Network Family

Life

As we revel in the celebrations of the holiday season, we often get so caught up in tree trimming, cookie baking, and gift-giving that we forget to take the time to bask in the precious moments of togetherness.

In honor of those moments, The M Network would like to share our favorite holiday memories with you. We hope you, too, will take the time to remember your WHY this holiday season.

Mozloom Family Memory

For Unto Us A Child Is Born…

16 years ago, on Christmas Eve, my wife Lisa went into labor with our 2nd child (of 3). She wasn’t due for another month, nevertheless, during midnight mass Lisa looked at me with wide eyes, pointing at her belly. “She’s coming,” she mouthed to me. I, of course, went outside to check for a star (you never know). No, it wasn’t the birth of a savior, but it was the birth of our daughter, Charissa. She was born Christmas morning, 2009. As I wrote to Lisa’s co-workers that day, “My wife gave me a beautiful daughter for Christmas. All I got her was a blue robe.”

Grace’s Memory

My favorite holiday memory is Christmas Eve dinner. Giada de Laurentis says, “Food brings people together on many different levels. It’s nourishment of the soul and body; truly love.” Every year my entire family gets together (yes, including the in-laws) on this special night, where we break bread and bond over multi-ethnic meals prepared with love. My family is a mix of American, Canadian, Cuban, Dominican, and Nicaraguan, with a sprinkle of Spanish, French, Italian, and Lebanese descent. It’s truly a United Nations Holiday meet-up and my favorite time of the year to enJOY a meal with all the kids ages 0-89!

Dawn’s Memory

My favorite holiday memory is twofold; first, baking at Christmas time with my mother and sister while listening to Christmas music, then continuing the tradition with my daughter and watching her now, on her own, continuing to bake over the holidays. This is why I love baking and sharing my baked goodies over the holidays, as it brings back such wonderful memories, year after year! Also, seeing my daughter share her goodies with her friends and co-workers warms my heart!

Jason’s Memory

2017 was my first Christmas at the M Network and one of the few Christmases where I had no visitors and didn’t travel. It was also my first Christmas in my new apartment after five months of being “between apartments.” Even though it was just Bindi and me, it was perfect; we were happy to be together in our own space again. She was so excited to wake me up and rip open presents that it was almost like she knew what day it was!

Sydne’s Memory

All my Christmas memories center around one individual I will always hold dear to my heart: my grandmother, Eunice Jones Timmons.

My grandmother passed away in 2011, and each day since then has not been easy for me. She was someone who saw me for who I was and loved me for it each and every day. Christmas time was my favorite time with her; she could cook like no one else I knew (no offense to my mom), her dance moves to old Christmas music were hysterical, and her home that always smelled like her was the best part. She lived on family property in the country; it was my own little paradise for Christmas, watching the stars twinkle at night, hearing all the animals bustling about in the woods, and waking up on Christmas mornings to deer running around or eating her plants.

My favorite Christmas memories all involve her.

Lauren’s Memory

The Spirit of the Season…

During the holidays, it’s easy to get wrapped up (pun intended) in the festive fare. You can call it the “Santa Clause Effect,” where we forget the reason for the season. Since I was a babe, I would bake a chocolate cake with my family and stay up until midnight on Noche Buena (Christmas Eve) to sing- “Happy Birthday” to Baby Jesus. I plan to continue this tradition when I have my own family. Merry Christmas

and Happy Holidays!

The M Network

It was “game on” at Bowlero Bowling Alley as The M Network team came together to celebrate and remember how grateful we are to work with each other in an industry that allows us to use our creativity to benefit others.

We will skip the dirty details about which teams won, but suffice it to say, we all left friends, and we were back at work Monday morning, ready to finish the year on a high note!

Merry Christmas! Happy Hanukah! Happy New Year!
