November is national gratitude month, and at The M Network, we advocate for countless organizations across our South Florida community. We work tirelessly to build awareness for causes near and dear to our hearts. We understand that The Miami Foundation’s Give Miami Day preserves the lifeline of non-profit organizations in our community.
The Miami Foundation is the philanthropic, civic, and leadership backbone for Greater Miami. This year The Miami Foundation celebrates Give Miami Day on November 17, with more than 1,000 non-profits — a record – registered for one of the country’s most significant 24-hour online giving events.
Give Miami Day, now in its eleventh year. Last year, the event raised more than $32 million from more than 38,000 donors. Donations support non-profit sectors such as arts and culture, economic and community development, the environment, equity advocacy, and community engagement. The community event is led by The Miami Foundation and supported by sponsors like Amazon, Knight Foundation, Nomi Health and The Jorge M. Perez Family Foundation.
“For many non-profits, Give Miami Day is the most important fundraiser of the year. So, it’s crucial that Miamians step up and give these organizations the support they need to excel boldly. Having weathered the vulnerabilities of 2020 and 2021—from Covid to inflation to so much more – Greater Miami’s non-profit organizations and their leaders are emboldened and energized to improve life and equity,” said Rebecca Fishman Lipsey, president, and CEO of The Miami Foundation.
Remember to catch Miami’s iconic buildings lighting up purple to highlight Give Miami Day. A purple glow on The Freedom Tower, Biltmore Hotel, PAMM, Frost Museum of Science, and Miami Worldcenter will unify the skyline and community to raise awareness about the role Miami’s non-profits play in our community and inspire everyone in Greater Miami to donate to causes they care about.
At midnight on Thursday, November 17, the 24-hour giving celebration officially launches. To learn more, visit givemiamiday.org.
