The M Network has had the pleasure of working alongside the Miami Lit Podcast, with various clients making appearances to discuss their creative endeavors with Jenny, so we knew it would be an excellent opportunity to introduce her to you! In one of our favorite Miami Lit Podcast episodes, Jenny sat down with the newly appointed CEO of HistoryMiami Museum, Natalia Crujeiras. Jenny, what inspired you to start Miami Lit Podcast?
My love for literature inspired Miami Lit Podcast. I was an English teacher for over a decade, and books have always been a big part of my life. I wanted to create a platform showcasing all the culture in our city.
Have you had a favorite interview on Miami Lit?
We have been so fortunate to have many amazing podcast guests. It’s difficult to pick a favorite. But I have to say the most memorable has been with author Junot Diaz. We were starting out, and he believed in what we were doing and decided to be a part of it. He is someone I deeply admire, so getting to chat with him was an unforgettable experience.
What does the podcast’s motto, “Read. Think. Live.” mean to you?
The show’s motto is what I live by and what I tried to create in my classroom with my students. Reading to enrich your mind and learn how to think will hopefully lead you to an adventurous and fulfilled life.
Can you share some goals for the Miami Lit Podcast?
The goals for the podcast are to keep on creating a space and community that is enriched by literature, art, and culture. We want to continue to shine a light on all the amazing things Miami has to offer that are sometimes overlooked.
What has been the most interesting lesson you have learned about branding and marketing in your Miami Lit Podcast journey?
The most interesting lesson has been to trust my gut and be patient.
I’ve also had to learn how to ask for help. It’s not something I’m comfortable with, but this journey has taught me to think differently.
